Chris qualified from Cambridge in 1995. After a few years in mixed practice, he joined Brookfield in 2004, became a partner in 2005 and now supports and mentors younger vets within the team. The practice is co-owned by him and his wife Victoria, and they are proud that they have remained independent over all this time. He enjoys tackling complex medical cases. He obtained a certificate in diagnostic imaging in 2017 which includes ultrasonography and radiography. He also offers in-depth consultations in dermatology. Chris has raised money for various charities over the years by running the London Marathon (7 times!) as well as cycle rides including Lands’ End to John O Groats. Apart from sport he also loves to travel and spend time with his family of 4 boys, Derek the dog and Hugo the cat.

Victoria is Herefordshire born and bred and qualified from Royal Veterinary College, London in 1996. Her Brookfield story began in 2004 and she co-owns the practice with her husband Chris. Victoria has a particular interest in Veterinary Dentistry. In 2015 she introduced digital dental radiography and has taken our dental care to new heights. In 2021, she gained her certificate in dentistry and now, in 2026, is doing her post-graduate certificate in Soft Tissue Surgery. She is the vet lead for our laparoscopic (keyhole) spay service, as part of her love for surgery. As well as four sons, Chris and Victoria have a ginger cat Hugo, and an ageing Labrador Derek, rescued in 2013.

Charles has been working with Brookfield Vets since he qualified from the University of Nottingham, starting with us in August 2016. Charles now shares his time between both branches but predominantly works in Ledbury as our Clinical Director. Charles and his wife, Fran (one of our other vets), have just welcomed their fourth child, Poppy, in January. In his spare time, when his hands aren’t full, he enjoys renovating his Victorian property and playing padel. Charles and his family have two Norfolk Terriers, and an assortment of guinea pigs and chickens.

Lou graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2008, beginning her Veterinary career at a small animal practice in Suffolk. She started at Brookfield in 2012, after moving to Hereford, and loves spending time with our clients. Lou’s particular interest lies in internal medicine, having achieved her Advanced Practitioner status and is currently working towards her Certificate in Small Animal Medicine! At home, Lou has 2 young children and a blind ginger cat called Mole, who she rescued as a stray kitten. She enjoys playing netball and going running.

Kelly qualified from Liverpool University in 2010 and has worked in Small Animal practice ever since. In 2017 Kelly completed a certificate in Small Animal Internal Medicine, before joining the Brookfield family in 2018. She enjoys surgery and working up complex medical cases. Outside of work Kelly is kept very busy with 3 daughters, 3 dogs, 1 cat, 7 guinea pigs and a number of chickens! Alongside looking after her family, she enjoys playing netball and agility training with her dogs.

Fran joined us in 2020, having graduated in 2016 from the University of Nottingham. You will see her working between both our branches and helps support our work with the Hereford branch of Cats Protection. Fran is currently on maternity leave having welcomed Poppy in January 2026. Fran's spare time is filled with caring for her four children, two dogs, guinea pigs, chickens and her demanding husband (Charles).

Natalie graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2015 and started her career up in Yorkshire. She then volunteered in the Amazon, helping to care for wild animals, before joining the Brookfield team in 2021. She has a soft spot for cats, having grown up with them throughout her childhood, and has had a special interest in them ever since. It didn’t take long for her to rescue Domino, a stray cat that was brought into work! Outside of work she is a member of two choirs and is often at choir performances throughout the year. She is also busy renovating her new home. In her spare time, she likes exploring new places and has an interest in photography.

Lauren graduated from Bristol University in 2022 and has worked at Brookfield ever since. You will see her at both our Hereford and Ledbury branches, and out an about everywhere from school career’s fairs to judging at charity dog shows! Lauren also coordinates out Vet and Work Experience Student placements, supports our work with the Hereford Cats Protection branch and is helping to develop our endoscopy service. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys taking her labrador Alf and rescue lurcher Oz on adventures, visiting friends and growing flowers and vegetables in her garden.

Jemima grew up in Buckinghamshire and studied at the University of Nottingham, before moving to Hereford shortly after graduating in 2024. Jemima has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and small animal surgery, being happiest in the operating room! Always on the go, Jemima enjoys running half marathons, playing netball and padel, and exploring the many restaurants and pubs that Hereford has to offer. Any free time that is left is spent occupying her mischievous rescue kitten Mervyn, who is always getting into trouble!

Tulip joined Brookfield in 2025, having graduated from the University of Surrey. You will see her across both our Hereford and Ledbury branches and has a particular interest in medicine cases. In her free time, she loves walks with her two Papillons, Koda and Moxie, and enjoys climbing.

Kirstyn joined our team in 2026 and has been bringing her brilliant smile and positive energy with her every day. Originally born in South Africa, she moved to Australia at 14, graduated as a vet there and has now been in the profession for 9 years. She relocated to Wales in 2018, working in mixed practice before spending some time in farm animal practice in 2023. These days, she’s happily settled in small animal work. Kirstyn has a real passion for surgery, pain management and emergency and critical care. Outside of work, you’ll usually find her exploring the great outdoors with her Border Ollie Mia, hiking, travelling, swimming or kickboxing.

Lucy has had a long career with Brookfield, first coming on work experience in 2013 whilst completing her Animal Nursing Assistant qualification at Abbeydale Training College, moving swiftly on to becoming a receptionist the following year. Lucy rose through the ranks to become our Practice Manager in 2016, completing her Leadership and Management diploma a few years later! Lucy ….. She adopted her labrador Milo from HWAR in 2020 and has a soft spot for cats, particularly her own – Esme and Phoebe. Lucy rescued Phoebe when she was brought into Brookfield as a stray kitten involved in an RTA, she made a full recovery and now rules the roost. Outside of work she is kept busy renovating her cottage and enjoys travelling and hiking.

Lottie has been part of the Brookfield team since 2010, starting initially on placement as a student RVN, qualifying in 2014 and becoming our Head Nurse in 2016! During her time with us, Lottie has expanded her knowledge and gained 2 certificates, the first in Emergency and Critical Care in 2018 and the second in Animal Behaviour in 2020. Lottie’s main interests lie in surgery and anaesthetics, where she regularly assists with our Laparoscopic neutering procedures. She also runs our weekly vet visits to the Hereford Cats Protection branch. Outside of work Lottie enjoys walking Norman, her lurcher x collie, exercising and going to watch live music.

Trish has been with Brookfield for over 30 years now, starting in 1994, and has definitely found her calling as a Veterinary Nurse. Over these years, Trish has obtained a wealth of extra qualifications, including her Nursing Certificate in Animal Behaviour in 2016 and her Nursing Certificate in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in 2024. Outside of work Trish loves competing in canine agility with 4 of her 7 dogs, having also obtained qualifications in Canine Fitness Training. Trish loves nothing more than helping your pets improve their quality of life, and has a vast knowledge base in dog training, breeding and physiotherapy following injury/surgery.

Nikki started at Brookfield in 2016 as a Student RVN, rapidly progressing through her apprenticeship to qualify 2 years later. Nikki continued to excel and was awarded the Deputy Head Nurse role in 2024 along with completing the BVNA/BVDA Oral Care Certificate. She enjoys inpatient care and, as a clinical coach, helping the next generation of RVNs to progress. Nikki has 2 young daughters and Roo, a fox red-labrador, who she loves to take on holidays and adventures!

Qualified as an RVN in 2015 and joined our team in 2020. Dentistry soon became a love of hers once at Brookfield and she continued her training in this area, completing her Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Dentistry) in 2022. Alicia is kept busy at home with her 3 children, all who share her love of animals, her dog Esther, cat Pip and Devon the bearded dragon! As well as an intense love of football (most importantly Wolverhampton Wanderers!), Alicia spends a lot of her time studying, furthering her knowledge to help all our patients.

Ginene completed her nursing apprenticeship in a small animal practice in Windsor, before relocated back home to the family farm in Herefordshire in 2021. Her interests lie in anaesthetics and inpatient care, along with maintaining our Gold ISFM Feline Friendly status. Ginene has a 4-year-old Cocker spaniel called Bailey, who is an ideal companion when training for half-marathons! She also loves travelling the world but is at her happiest at home on the farm with a cup of tea!

Rachel qualified as an RVN in 2010 and brought her experience to the team, joining us in 2017. Rachel has a particular interest in wound care, alongside being a friendly face when running nurse consults. Outside of work Rach helps run her beef and sheep farm, along with keeping her 3 children and Border Terrier Gryffindor out of mischief! She will usually be found looking after her chickens or bird watching whilst working in her garden.

Lindsey has a long history with Brookfield, progressing through the ranks from being a long-standing client, to work experience placements, then reception and SVN apprenticeship, to finally graduating in her dream role as an RVN in 2023! Her friendly face will usually be found running nurse consultations, particularly in weight management and arthritis care. Never one to sit still, Lindsey has 3 Hungarian Vizslas who she takes hiking regularly, in between kayaking, performing on stage with the local musical theatre group and is currently studying for her motorbike license!

James joined our team in 2020 to aid the Vets during the COVID-19 lockdowns as an animal handler. His skills in animal care were immediately evident, and he progressed quickly through his student RVN apprenticeship to qualify in 2024. James has a keen interest in cytology and loves nothing better than a day looking down a microscope, he also is passing along his skills to our new student nurses as a clinical coach. He also has a soft spot for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, of which he owns one called Emma.

Ailish completed her apprenticeship at a mixed practice in Brecon, qualifying in 2020. Her love for small animal nursing grew and she joined the Brookfield team in 2024. Ailish’s particular interest include emergency care, diagnostic imaging and dentistry, already completing her BSAVA Merit Award in Dentistry and studying for her Advanced Nursing Certificate in Medical Nursing! At home, Ailish has a rescue cat called Alfie and a cocker spaniel called Ollie who she loves taking on long walks. If not out walking, she will usually be found watching live music.

Fliss joined the team in 2022 as a student RVN, completing her apprenticeship in 2025. Now a fully qualified RVN, Fliss’ particular areas of interest lie within anaesthetic and ECC (Emergency and Critical Care) work, making her an ideal fit with our own out-of-hours service. In her free time Fliss enjoys playing tennis and horse riding through the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire countryside.

Lexy joined us in 2024, halfway through her BSc (hon) degree in Veterinary Nursing. She is still studying at Harper Adams University and is due to graduate in summer 2026. Lexy has a notable interest in pain management, with her dissertation looking into use of pain scores following laparoscopic neutering! At home, Lexy has a cocker spaniel called Wookie who enjoys hiking almost as much as Lexy does!

Bek joined us in 2023 on reception but a keen interest in nursing developed, and she progressed to the role of Student RVN in April 2026. She is now studying for her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, through the apprenticeship route, alongside working full time in practice. Bek is looking forward to getting involved with the hands-on care side of nursing, already playing a key role our inpatient care. She has 2 dogs, a German Shepherd called Jana and Isla the cocker spaniel. Outside of work Bek enjoys taking the dogs to their favourite place (the beach!) and watching football.
Head Receptionist

Maddie joined the team in March 2018, fitting in so well with her bubbly personality. She has always worked within the pet industry, but her love for animals brought her to Brookfield where should could work closer with our four-legged friends. Maddy has numerous additional qualifications, including her Gold Award within the British Veterinary Receptionist Association, as well as completing her SQP qualification, which qualifies her as a registered animal medicines advisor. Maddy was made head receptionist in July 2021, due to her unerring dedication to client service & forward-thinking approach to always improve what we do. At home, Maddy is kept busy with her 5 dogs; Bean, Bruce, Nelly, Wilf and Zora and cat Margot. She enjoys taking them all out on a woodland walk amongst the Forest of Dean, along with her husband, Duncan, daughter, Lexi and son, Angus.

Lily joined the team in 2021 on reception and, along with being the welcoming face as you walk through the doors, is kept busy managing our Pet Health Plan, organising our orthopaedic operations and constructing our informative education board each month! Just to add to her busy list, Lily has also completed the Bronze BVRA Accredited Veterinary Receptionist Award and is currently completing the BVRA Companion Animal Foundation Course. Outside of work Lily is also excelling, having obtained her qualification to become a Certified Les Mills Body Attack instructor in 2025 and training for multiple half-marathons and other races!

Mel joined the practice in March 2022 on reception. Her love for helping our patients has only grown, and Mel has started studying for her Diploma to become a qualified Veterinary Nursing Assistant. She can’t wait to learn more about the clinical side of the profession and get more involved with the hands-on side of patient care. At home Mel loves spending time with her growing family, with a young son, 1 year old kitten and new Hungarian Vizla puppy keeping her busy!
